Brodiaea has deep blue flowers and sparse foliage. They grow to approximately 40cm and can be used for cutflowers. Although not fully hardy, they can be left in the ground to naturalise when planted in a well-drained soil in a sheltered position, and mulching is recommended for the winter months. These should be planted in the full sun or in partial shade. Brodiaea are best suited for the garden making an excellent border plant.
